Information: Experience and Education:
*I am currently pursuing my doctorate in Human Development and Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I am researching the epistemology of educational data analysis, "What Makes Educational Research Trustworthy?" I like scholarship, but I love teaching. I'm working on TeenActivist.Org to stay in the teaching game.
*I am an elected member of the Brewster Democratic Town Committee, and I am a regular delegate to the Massachusetts State Democratic Convention.
*I would rather be a campaigner than a complainer. Most recently, I worked on the street for John Kerry '04 for U.S. President, Warren Tolman '02 and Deval Patrick '06 for MA Governor, and Cleon Turner '04 and '06 for MA Congress.
*I earned my M.A. in Liberal Arts at St. John's College, Santa Fe, a great-books school.
*I taught English 9 at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School for three good years. I was advisor to the Alliance of Lesbian, Gay, and Straight Students and to the Young Democrats.
*I worked construction for two years--not website construction, but landscape construction.
*I have done volunteer stints as a Big Brother (6 years), Crisis Counselor (1 year), Habitat for Humanity Worker (1 year), Nursing Home Activities Assistant (2 years), Community Access Cameraman (2 years) and Middle School Mentor (1 Year).
*I graduated from Clark University, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with majors in Psychology and Philosophy and concentrations in Human Services and School Psychology.
*I was once a teen activist myself.

  • Allison6463 : Welcome JunkTeen and RecyclingLove. You two should check out the forums. They are a great way to connect with other members. Also, you can post a journal telling of some of the activism you partake in, as well as announcements and links. Be sure to check all of those out! :]
  • Allison6463 : For the new kids that don't know what to do, I would suggest the Forums. It would be a really nice way to get people connected. We just need to use them more. :
