Man, that's awesome! What kind of ways are you including gay rights into your speeches? Have you seen a positive reaction from doing this?

Wow...another obvious case of ignorance. That's sad. Exactly how is it the Boy Scouts' place to tell people how to live their lives? I think I must've missed that. So what kind of stuff are you doing to help "right this wrong"?

After not being on this site for quite a while, it was nice to read up on the new posts, and I came acrossed this one, and was amazed. You are very correct in all your facts, and it is true that gay marraige rights, or even "civil union" rights are few and far between. But what can we do to help change that? Perhaps what can we do to "integrate" more of the gay community?

Shoot me and email sometime if you have any ideas. It'd be nice to hear some!

I read your post, and after words, I just had to sit back in disbelief. I don't understand how a teacher could tell students something like that. If it were me, I would have argued relentlessly.

I think this brings up something that perhaps we as students can create. I truly thing that Gay Straight Alliance groups help tremendously to allow people to become aware of exactly what it going on. Gays are people too, and they shouldn't be treated any differently.

Thank you for your post. It was definitely inspiring to me.

Though everyone's experience is different, I went through a similar thing than Lisa. People have made fun of me, made cruel jokes, and even my family did! Coming out isn't easy, and living with people who know isn't any easier. Though I am not lesbian, being bisexual sometimes can be more hurtful, given the sterotype of bisexuals. Though I took all that, and put it beside me, and decided I want to go to different gay pride, or gay events, and be apart of it. So coming up next year, I will be going (or hopefully) be going to the Seattle Gay Pride fesitval. I think that negative things like what Lisa went through can be out into action, or awareness for not only yourself, but for those around you.

Thank you for the post!

If it that were to have happened to me, you could gauruntee I'd be on of the first protestors on the street. I think it unfair to people to be taken advantage of like that, and if it were me, I'd do something about it. For now, I think it'd be nice if I could find time to look up similar issues in my city, disagree or agree, and if I agree, do something to help that cause. Whether it be making signs, or just letting others become aware, I think we should all help a cause that we support. What do others think?
