The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School Sophomore class sponsored the Battle of the Bands on friday, March 30, 2007. This show not only included a wide array of bands, but also a table informing students about the genocide in Darfur. The word was spread as bands wore the shirts sold during intermission and even spoke about supporting the cause on stage. A video made by Danbury High School was played during intermission to show the extremes of this genocide. The first and second place winners of the battle were also invited to compete in a Cape-Wide Battle of the Bands at Mattacheese Middle School on May 18th. This event was created to directly support the fight against the genocide in Darfur.
