WINGS

3.8

out of 5
For weeks I have sent around a petition concerning human rights. And over 150 students signed it. Hours of research has been conducted before this interview with the head school official. I realize I need to organize more and have the issues layed out more for him. Also I need More support from students. Our school has approved paid clubs like The Sweater Vest Club,AIDS organization and YOUTH GROUP. I think these are good assets to the school, but a Human Rights club can put it all together. Those clubs only deal with religion and a way of dressing. This official more or less threw us out of his office stating that he is afraid that our group sessions would turn into councelor sessions, and that job is already taken. I feel the need to express how us individuals feel in this little town. Our school councelors all agree that they could be our Adult Advisers for this organization. Which would eliminate the fear of turning into a councelor session, which would be GREAT! If anyone has issues that I could lay out for this official for additional meetings PLEASE write to me @ This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or on this site. what you can say is that the club will allow students to remain informed on human rights abuses around the world, and come up with practical solutions to reduce or eliminate them. You can also say that the club will allow you to combine certain good aspects of clubs such as model u.n., peer counseling, law and justice, gsa, and other such clubs.

thats what i can think of off the top of my head.

  • Allison6463 : For the new kids that don't know what to do, I would suggest the Forums. It would be a really nice way to get people connected. We just need to use them more. :
