hey guys, first of all I just want to say that I totally respect vegetarians and vegans but what I don't get is why do they not eat just animals? I mean plants feel and know just about as much as animals do and also think about it. millions of plants are bieng killed too. I mean I would see that if you didn't like meat or for some reason coldn't eat it that would be fine, or if you refuse to eat any delicacys because they are rare and endangered, or because you feel healthier not eating meat that then it would make sence. but also all of these beautiful parts of our world are bieng killed wether we eat them or not and so truthfully eating them will be no harm as long as they are a popular species. the reason I made this argument is because I was a vegetarian for a short period and my grandmother was asking me why I just didn't eat plants too, and I couldn't really tell her so she explained to me what I just explained. Also in order to grow healthy and strong we need to eat what our body needs like meat because meat helps our bones and blood to stay strong. and dairy because it has calcium and that keeps our teeth white and our bones strong. also if you really consider it almost all animals eat each other anyways, they eat other species too, so they aren't innocent either. and if you in someway feel bad eating animals think about it. they eat other species too. if anyone shouldn't be eaten it would probally be plants (if you are over eighteen and done growing) because plants only help the soil and worms and feed off of water, they eat nothing living. anyways if you read this thank you for your time and I really hope you see my point. -Isabela-

As for the health of vegs, we can be just as healthy as any meat eater. Most of the time more healthy, because of the saturated fats in meats. Also, there is the whole issue with factoring farming which just disgusts me. (animalliberationfront.org)
Though, I will have to agree with Sean. Why argue? It is better to unite then divid. I would rather you look into a veg diet, however. Just so you can see that is a good thing. :]

This is weird to write, because, on the on hand, I'm thrilled to have such an articulate, passionate activist contribute to this small (but growing!) site. However, on the other hand, you're really starting a debate, and this is not a debate site. Debate and debate sites such as Essembly.Com are great, but TeenActivist.Org is an action site, not a debate site.
(Disclaimer: I happen to be a vegetarian, but that has nothing to do with my concern.)
I think it's really good to question life decisions, especially our own. I think there is a place for your vegetarian skepticism, but not exactly here, even though you put your arguments forward respectfully.
I hope you will post your save-the-Whale activism and any other activism in which you engage (whether or not I "agree"!)
Out of respect, I will not unpublish your entry without your permission. After all, it's not like your post is hateful. In fact, it's just the opposite.
Thank you so much (no kidding, really!)
Sean :)
