WINGS

People are always complaining about school... and I mean always. (Talk is Cheap, by Authority Zero) Well, students have rights too. Lets start with the US Constitution, First Amendment. It is still valid during school hours, and it would probably be best if you familiarize yourself with it know (because it will come in handy multiple times throughout your activist years!) So, to break it down nice and simple, you have: freedom of press, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to assemble, and freedom to petition. Also on the topic of The US Constitution, is the Fourteenth Amendment. "Equal protection of the law" is key here. This prevents discrimination. Also because of the "Due process of law" it means you must be treated fairly when accused of bad behavior. For more detailed info, I urge you to check out: http://undergroundactionalliance.org/resources.php?r_section=9#chapter1

I thank you for this journal entry. You've inspired me to look up, know, and memorize my rights as a sutdent. We have no right to complain and then do nothing. If we are going to complain we must do something to change the object of our compliant and improve it. Teens can change the world! Bring it!
