No one has ever actually defined to me what animal rights are. What right would we be giving them? The right to vote or to practice their own religion? Or is it simply the right to not be beaten by someone who possess them? I'm not telling people to go drown kittens or something like that, but to stop a train because an animal is on the tracks is extremely inconvenient. Why delay a train five hours because a cow refuses to move? Should humans stop eating meat as a gesture to animals? Animals won't stop eating each other, so why should we stop eating them? And what about plants, do they not have rights too? How would one know whether or not every tree and carrot has a soul or spirit inside? Do people feel it is necessary to grant other animals rights because they are inferior? Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Beating animals is pointless, and so is taking extra care of turkeys before you chop off their heads before Thanksgiving dinner. You shouldn't be cruel to animals, but you shouldn't be extra nice for no reason either.
