I became a vegetarian about a year ago. My family LOVES meat, and at one point in my life I did too. One day I really looked at the fact that animals don't really have a choice in this world. I mean they can't speak up for themselves and say what they want, and who are we to say whats best for them. I'm pretty sure they're goal in life is to not end up served in a box from some fast food restaurant. If anything, animals should have the right to live. I mean doesn't everyone want at least that, the right to live, the chance for happiness?

"If a group of beings from another planet were to land on Earth -- beings who considered themselves as superior to you as you feel yourself to be to other animals -- would you concede them the rights over you that you assume over other animals?"
George Bernard Shaw, playwright, Nobel Prize 1925

I don't like the thought of an animal dying. The saddest points in life for me have been when my puppies and one of my dogs (that was like my best friend) died. One day, we were in Africa (mixed race) and my mum wanted to pick up some things. There was no were to park near there so she drove down somewhere and parked. When she left the car (I remained in it), a while later, I looked out the window and I saw people killing animals, hitting them with rocks, huge knives and other things. I was in shock for a really long time. It was terrible.
I'm not going to tell the world to become vegetarians, but if they could cut down on their meat in take, that'll be good because less animals would end up being killed.
