HOW DO I GET STARTED?

 It's as easy as 1-2-3:

First, register.

Second, tell us abut your activism by clicking on "Submit Journal Entry" at the top of the User Menu. Stay focused on your activities more than your ideologies. No form of activism is too big or too small. Everything matters. If you only submit one entry in your life, you've done something permanent that fellow teens can think about and learn from for years to come.

Third, read the journal entries of other members, and, if you find their work meaningful, give them  WINGS by commenting. Keep it positive! There are other places to bicker, not here.

And that's that.

WHY?

We're just getting started so there have been no questions, nevermind frequently asked questions. Nevertheless, I'll answer an obvious question: What the heck is this site all about? Well, I hope it can be many things to many people, but for me it's a way to continue doing what I love--teaching. I left the classroom to pursue my doctorate at Harvard, and Harvard's great and all, but I miss learning with my teenage students. I don't want to forget the hope and dejection, triumph and frustration, and courage and laziness of being a teenager. I don't know of a better way to stay focused on the important questions of life than to keep in touch with the fresh perspectives of teenagers. Some people believe teenagers are worthless, and others don't. I count myself among the latter.

  • Allison6463 : Welcome JunkTeen and RecyclingLove. You two should check out the forums. They are a great way to connect with other members. Also, you can post a journal telling of some of the activism you partake in, as well as announcements and links. Be sure to check all of those out! :]
