TeenActivist.Org is an internet start-up, and it needs teens like you to start it up. If you are (or want to be) a social entrepreneur, please join the TeenActivist.Org team. We need content publishers, user administrators, web programmers and, most importantly, outreach specialists. If all that seems way too technical, don't worry, because those are just the fancy titles that you would put on your college and job applications.

An example line on a resume or CV:
2007     Co-founder of TeenActivist.Org, serving as a principal outreach specialist

Job descriptions:
Content Publishers--Provide gentle recommendations to members on how to make their journal submissions more effective. Monitor journal submissions for possibe abuse. Censor extreme profanity.

User Administrators--Approve user profiles and photos. In general, keep an eye out for possible abusers.

Web Programmers--The first task for the web programmers is to use an image editor (e.g., Paint Shop) to reduce the file-size of the images without losing too much quality. In general, the web programmer's job is to speed up and spruce up the site. To speed up the site, enact the recommendations of WebsiteOptimization.Com. To spruce up the site, make little Joomla hacks as necessary with Joomla.Org as a guide.

Outreach Specialists--You know other teens who serve their community. Some teens volunteer on their own, other teens are active participants in political campaigns and service organizations, and still other teens speak out with their voices (including t-shirts, websites, buttons, and stickers) and their actions. Make sure that they are all contributing members to TeenActivist.Org. Furthermore, make sure all contributing members get the props they deserve by dishing out WINGS to every effort that you support (of course, always keeping it real). If you reach out and bring in ten new contributors, and you keep the WINGS flying, then you are a co-founder.

  • Allison6463 : Welcome JunkTeen and RecyclingLove. You two should check out the forums. They are a great way to connect with other members. Also, you can post a journal telling of some of the activism you partake in, as well as announcements and links. Be sure to check all of those out! :]
