I'm sadie* and I'm new here. I'd like to just start out by talking a little about what I feel is the most important thing I'm doing right now is. Ever since Jr. High I've been vegetarian. I'm not the kind that is in-your-face-i'm-better-than-you. And in fact that bothers me when I see it. I like animals a lot and since early this last Summer I've been making the hour commute to our nearest animal shelter to help with the cats there. I know it might not seem like too much, but it really feels like I'm making a difference. I usually clean out their cages, show cats to potential adopters, and help people in chosing a companion for their family (it is quite a challenge usually, as every cat is different and every family is different. The chemistry has to be just so in order to ensure things will work out). It's been proven that animals can be very beneficial for people. And I guess I want to help make people more beneficial to animals.
I am an aspiring vegetarian, and i've been seeing so much animal cruelty on the news latley. Its not like i eat much anyway..but I've permanatly switched to soy products. Which indeed taste better and are better for the animals!!

I'm one too. I haven't been one for to long. I live in a house with a lot of animals so I know how you feel about the cages and such. Can you believe that people actually do that though? Do they have no shame? Keep at it!
